We just wanted to pop in with a quick update because — whew — our inboxes have been full lately. So many of you have reached out to assists@booksbybehnke.com and refunds@booksbybehnke.com, and we want you to know... we hear you, we see you, and we’re right here with you. 💻📬

If you ordered a hardback copy of Before 18, you’re probably wondering why it’s taking longer than expected. So let’s be real with you:

This is nobody’s fault — not Joseph’s, not the team’s, not yours. It’s a printing delay, plain and simple. And while it sucks (we feel it too), it’s a very real thing happening to independent authors across the country right now.

📚 Here's what’s going on behind the scenes:

Our production office used to have three working printers running full time. But unfortunately, two of them broke down, and we’re currently waiting on the production companies to come fix them. That leaves us with only one printer running — for both paperbacks and hardbacks.

You can probably imagine how chaotic things are in the Books by Behnke production office right now 😅 — but we’re moving as fast as we can.

With paperbacks, we can print 20 at a time.
With hardbacks? Just 2 per batch. Yep. Only 2.

💡 It takes 3–4 days to print just the cover, and about a week to finish the inside pages. Add in binding, boxing, and shipping — and suddenly that “2–3 week” estimate becomes more like 4–8 weeks total.

We’re doing everything we can to push them out as fast as possible — but it takes time, and we want to keep you in the loop.

If you’re okay waiting just a little longer (about 2–3 more weeks), we’ll get your book to you ASAP! 📬💨

BUT if you’d rather make a change, you totally can:

📦 Swap to the paperback version (which ships faster!)

👉 IMPORTANT: If you choose to swap your hardback for a paperback, that swap is final. No refunds will be given on swapped orders. We appreciate your understanding!
